About This Research

We’re proud to launch Adapt. Reuse. Return. a new strategic thought‑leadership initiative showcasing FK’s expertise in adaptive reuse, building retrofits, and urban renewal.

To deepen the industry conversation around reuse — a space where FK has long held specialist capability — we surveyed 1,000 office‑based employees across Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney to understand what today’s professionals value most in their workplaces.

The results were striking: the qualities employees prioritise—sustainability, amenity, character, and experience — are often achieved more effectively by reimagining existing buildings than by constructing new ones. Yet only 60% of workers are familiar with the concept of “reuse” and the benefits it can deliver.

As a carbon‑neutral certified practice, FK continues to lead in sustainable design that elevates both beauty and performance. From iconic towers like Eureka and Australia 108 to cultural destinations like MONA, our portfolio demonstrates how environmental responsibility and design excellence can work hand‑in‑hand.
